Singapore Holiday Calendar
New Year's Day
New Years day is celebrated in Singapore on the 1st January each year.
It is also known as Tahun Baru and is celebrated on the first day of the modern Gregorian calendar.
Chinese Lunar New Year
Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year is the most important traditional Chinese holiday celebrated in Singapore. It traditionally starts on the first day of the Chinese new year calendar and ends with the Lantern Festival 15 days later. It is known as Tahun Baru Cina / Hari Raya Cina.
Good Friday
Good Friday has a number of other names including Black Friday, Holy Friday or Great Friday. It is a religious holiday observed mostly by Christians commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his subsequent death. It is a public holiday for all Singapore residents. It is known as Hari Jumaat Agung.
Holy Saturday
Holy Saturday is the day after Good Friday.
Labour Day
Labour day, also known as Labor day or Hari Burah is an annual federal holiday to celebrate the social and economic achievements of Singapore workers.
Vesak Day
Vesak day, also known as Hari Wesak, is an annual holiday in Singapore observed by practicing Buddhists. The day celebrates the birth, enlightenment and death of Gautama Buddha.
National Day
National day, or Hari Kebangsaan, celebrates the independence of Singapore.
Hari Raya Puasa
This day is known as Eid al-Fitr and is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, which is the Islamic holy month of fasting. In Singapore it is more commonly known as Hari Raya Puasa where Hari Raya means ‘Celebration Day’.
Deepavali
This day is commonly known a the ‘Festival of Lights’ and marks an important five day festival between mid-October and mid-November for a number of religions including Hinduism. The day is a federal holiday in Singapore.

Also known as the ‘Festival of Sacrifice’ or ‘Great Eid’, Hari Raya Haji is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims around the world.
Christmas Day
Christmas Day is the Christian holiday to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and is celebrated on the 25 December each year.
